How the Countdown Works
The calculator finds the next date after today with your birth month and day, then counts the calendar days until it. If your birthday is today, it counts to the same date next year and wishes you a happy birthday. The count uses today’s date on your device, so it updates each day you visit.
Which Weekday Will My Birthday Be?
A birthday moves one weekday later each year, and two when a February 29 falls in between. Over a 28-year stretch it lands on each weekday four times. The table of your next ten birthdays marks weekend birthdays, which is useful when planning a party or a trip well in advance.
Half Birthdays
A half birthday falls six calendar months after your birthday — September 14 for someone born on March 14. If that month is shorter, the last day of the month is used, so a birthday on August 31 gives a half birthday on the last day of February.
Day-Count Milestones
Round numbers of days make alternative birthdays that fall on a different date for everyone. You reach 10,000 days at about 27 years and 4 months, 20,000 days at about 54 years and 9 months, and 1 billion seconds — roughly 11,574 days — at about 31 years and 8 months. The billion-second date is approximate because the calculator does not know your time of birth.

Questions and Answers
Why does my birthday fall on a different weekday each year?
A common year is 365 days, which is 52 weeks and 1 day, so a birthday usually moves one weekday later each year. When a February 29 falls between two birthdays, it moves two weekdays.
When do I celebrate if I was born on February 29?
In leap years, on February 29. In other years this calculator uses February 28, the last day of your birth month; many people choose March 1 instead. Legal rules for when an age is reached differ between countries.
What is a 10,000-day birthday?
It is the day you have lived exactly 10,000 days, which happens a little after your 27th birthday. Some people mark it as an alternative milestone because it falls on a different date for everyone.
